You're Invited

Somos Spring Branch invites you to a community ofrenda honoring Northbrook Middle School. Whether you're a Northbrook alumnus, a current or former student, a teacher, staff member, or a member of our Spring Branch community—this is a space for us to gather, remember, and celebrate the legacy of this beloved school.

What is an Ofrenda?

An ofrenda is a sacred altar or gathering space rooted in Mexican and Latin American traditions. While many associate ofrendas with Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), they are practiced throughout the year as meaningful ways to honor and remember people, places, and moments that hold significance in our lives. An ofrenda is a place of memory, gratitude, and connection - a tangible expression of how we carry the people and places we love in our hearts.

For Northbrook, this ofrenda will serve as a collective memorial. It's a space where we can leave behind pieces of our Northbrook stories: the friendships made, the teachers who inspired us, the growth we experienced, and the community that shaped us.

What to Bring

We invite you to bring artifacts that represent your Northbrook experience or connection. These might include:

• Photographs (individual photos or group pictures)
• Written reflections (letters, poems, memories)
• Mementos (yearbooks, programs, announcements)
• Clothing (Northbrook shirts, spirit wear, team jerseys)
• Awards & achievements (trophies, certificates, medals)
• Artwork or crafts (drawings, collages, handmade items)
• Anything meaningful that represents your Northbrook story

Note: All items will be treated with care and respect. If you're submitting photographs digitally, we can print and frame them for the ofrenda.

How to Participate

There are three ways to be part of this gathering:

1. Attend in Person
Join us on June 7 to share in this community moment. RSVP on this page so we can plan accordingly.

2. Submit Artifacts or Photos
Can't attend but want your memory represented? Submit photos or tell us about an artifact you'd like to contribute using the form below. We'll ensure it's honored on the ofrenda.

3. Volunteer
Help us create this meaningful space. We're looking for volunteers to help with setup, welcoming guests, and supporting the gathering. Sign up in the form below.
